Market Policies and Guidelines

The Market - The market will be open rain or shine and will only cancel in extreme weather conditions. Please check the website or Facebook for information on market closing or contact the market manager directly.

Vendors - All locally procuded goods are welcome provided they compliment the market. Vendors will be authorized to sell their crafts as long as they are of taste and appeal to the end-user.

You may only sell the products listed on your application - vendors cannot sell products that were not listed on the original application without submitting an addendum and getting written approval.

EXCLUSIVITY - No exclusivity is promoted. Different vendors can sell the same types of crafts provided they do not look exactly the same. The idea is to create an environment that welcomes versatility and uniqueness without barring the same ideas with different styles and aesthetics. If your craft is not selling, we suggest you get a little more “crafty” (no pun intended).

Produce/Farmers - The market will do its best to sell in-season fresh fruit, vegetables as well as dairy and eggs, meat, fish, berries, nuts, herbs, flowers, plants, honey, and poultry. Our focus is Colorado farmers and what they grow with respect to their harvest seasons.

Seasonings add value - Products such as olive oils, vinaigrettes along with exotic home-made spices are also welcome. Products which are grown and made by the vendor such as jams, baked goods, cheese, preserves, sausage, and smoked meats are also welcome. All processed foods must be appropriately labeled with product name, ingredients, net weight, price, vendor’s name and address. We encourage sampling of your products to our patrons.

Holistic products - Vendors may also sell holistic and natural products such as healing oils, stones, aroma therapeutic scents, smelling salts, candles, home-made homeopathic remedies that are made from natural sources .

Food Vendors – Shoppers do become hungry. Market food vendors are authorized. Our intent is to support local brick and mortar businesses, so vendors who are selling snacks for shoppers will be accepted provided they have the necessary permits and licenses to sell, and they do not compete with local eateries.

Specialty Items - Living in Europe and frequenting the open air markets, some of the vendors there specialized in antique furniture and hand-made furniture. Although we are not a flea market, antique furniture and hand-made furniture are welcome provided they are of taste and specialty items such as imported goods that are also hand-made will also be authorized. Our market panel will discuss and decide if your specialty item meets market criteria.

Display and Signage - Vendors are required to display their products which positively brand the market and keep the local customer interested. No broken boxes or storage bags will be placed on the tables. No bags and boxes are authorized for rummaging. Storage will be kept out of view and goods are required to be displayed neatly on tables. Table clothes are required unless you have an original display. Vendor tents are also a must unless you have a unique display. Your area also must have a signs.

Musicians - We welcome music that is upbeat, family friendly and skillfully presented.

We have two types of performance opportunities at our farmers markets; both play for tips:

Busking: performers show up on market day and sign up for a space, if available.

Scheduled performances: performers contact our office to arrange for a date and time to perform under our 10 x 10  canopy.

Several guidelines to keep in mind: music is kept at a low volume so as not to interfere with market conversations and sales, performers play for tips only, the market will not provide any equipment. Buskers must check in with the market manager when they show up; if we can find space for you, we will. Access to electricity may be limited so acoustic is always preferred.

Insurance - All relevant licenses, permits and other documents must be submitted with the application form. If you are a food business still waiting for Health Department permits, you can wait to secure those permits upon acceptance.

Application Process -Once you feel you meet market criteria and requirements, you are welcome to apply.
